I strongly believe that no woman or girl should ever have to face physical or sexual violence and abuse. Although this statement exists for men and women alike, in light of recent and historic events, the females of our world seem to be at an increased risk for all types of abuse — physical, sexual, and domestic violence, among some.

This is a print campaign by an agency in India, Taproot, that aims to increase awareness of this issue today.

I found is especially powerful because it is based on the goddesses and deities that many Indians and Hindus worship, yet the “goddesses” in our own homes are treated poorly and abused. The vividness of these images should and will touch those who can see and gauge the effect(s) of violence and abuse on our women and girls, our goddesses.
